So What’s Happening with Congressional Elections?

As the presidential election dust begins to settle, the dust has also settled around the Senate and House of Representative seats - that is, except for Georgia.
The Senate race was extraordinarily close in Georgia, leading to a runoff election on January 5, where the state’s two Senate seats are still up for grabs. Those races won't just decide who represents Georgia; they'll decide whether the Republicans will continue to have the majority of seats in the Senate (the “Upper” chamber of Congress), and therefore who will be the Senate majority leader (a position currently held by Mitch McConnell).
The runoff is between Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, the Republican incumbents (pictured on the right side of the photo above), and Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
As the House continues to remain in a position of Democrat majority, and as the incoming President of the U.S. (“POTUS”) is a Democrat, the U.S. Senate run-off election in Georgia will no doubt be one the entire country watches closely the week of January 5.
